John Venezia

Vice President, Climate Planning + ICF Climate Center Senior Fellow

John has over two decades of experience on climate change issues, specializing in greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory development, designing GHG measurement, reporting, and verification guidelines, and analyzing the costs and reduction potential of GHG mitigation strategies. He leads our GHG Mitigation and Sustainability practice, working with clients to support their efforts to decarbonize and adopt more sustainable practices. John and his team provide strategic advice, implementation support, and evaluation services for governments at every level, multi- and bilateral funding institutions, and commercial clients in the United States and abroad.

Nominated by the U.S. to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change's Roster of Experts, John is an internationally recognized expert in GHG emissions from the energy sector and national GHG emission inventories. John is also a senior fellow with the ICF Climate Center. In this role, he provides compelling research and objective perspectives on a wide range of climate-related topics to help advance climate conversations and accelerate climate action.
